At what point does common sense trump ideology? In a January 2008 interview with a San Francisco newspaper, Obama says "So, if somebody wants to build a new coal plant, they can - but it will bankrupt them". He's referring to his "Cap and Trade" proposal, which will force industry to pay a "carbon tax" on any emissions thrown into the atmosphere. As we sit here today, we haven't built a new nuclear plant in this country in some 20 or 25 years - and now Obama wants to bankrupt the coal industry? We can't drill in Alaska or off our coasts for energy, we can't build any new oil refineries. For a guy who's campaign slogan is "Yes We Can" - he sure does like to say "No You Can't" to many energy solutions.
I'm all for wind and solar technology - but c'mon. The technology on a mass scale simply isn't there yet. This is just another Obama fairy tale that once again, will put us in a perilous position economically.
How are people in PA, VA, and OH even thinking about voting for this guy?

I don't know much about energy, but I have heard of clean coal. And I have heard of scrubbers that can clear the emissions of pollutants. Why do we have to give up coal altogether? It doesn't make sense to me.
ReplyDeleteWe'll continue bloging and Obama will continue clogging! The people who vote for Obama are blinded...blinded by the very 'hate' they say they are against. There is no hope in them. If Obama is elected then this country will take the same path that the Roman Empire did. The trouble in America isn't 'Americans', its those who come in the name of 'America' but want to change all that made us Americans. When you fill colleges with 'liberal professors' you get 'graduates' with liberal views who spew the same 'docrtine' as their 'teachers'...Bill Ayers is a good example of what some colleges are turning out as 'professors'...anyone every ask him 'how much money he made?' Anyone ever do any research into his retirement plan, and insurance coverage? Right. Betcha, he doesn't have to worry about paying his bills...do you think He and Obama are 'shareing the wealth'? Think again!
